1.Purpose and scope
Crypto assets are volatile and speculative. You may lose substantial or all of the value of assets used or held on SYENU. International availability also depends on changing laws and regulatory requirements.
This disclosure describes material risks associated with accessing SYENU, holding assets on a centralised exchange, making fiat or crypto transfers and using spot trading services. It is not exhaustive.
2.No advice
SYENU provides platform and execution services. Market information is general information only and is not investment, financial, legal or tax advice or a recommendation to trade.
3.Price and market risk
- Crypto prices may change rapidly and may fall to zero or near zero.
- Past performance, market capitalisation or trading volume does not predict future results.
- Prices may differ between exchanges and markets.
4.Liquidity, spread and execution risk
- Thin order books may produce large spreads and slippage.
- Market orders do not guarantee a specific price.
- Limit orders may not execute or may partially fill.
- Trading may be suspended during severe market, security, technical or legal events.
5.Stablecoin risk
USDT, USDC and other stablecoins can depeg and may face reserve, issuer, banking, redemption, regulatory, liquidity or technological risks. SYENU does not guarantee parity with any fiat currency.
6.Blockchain and network risk
- Transfers are generally irreversible.
- Congestion, fee spikes, forks, chain reorganisations, validator failures, smart-contract vulnerabilities and protocol changes may affect transfers or asset value.
- Unsupported networks, wrong addresses or missing memos/tags may cause permanent loss.
7.Custody and platform risk
Centralised exchange use creates custody, operational, cyber, key-management, internal-control, third-party and insolvency-related risks. Security measures reduce but do not eliminate these risks.
8.Fraud and account-security risk
- Phishing, SIM swap, malware, social engineering, impersonation and remote-access scams may compromise accounts.
- Customers are responsible for protecting credentials and devices.
- SYENU may impose security holds or additional verification to protect an account.
9.Banking and payment-provider risk
Fiat services depend on banks and payment providers. Delays, outages, account freezes, compliance reviews, public holidays or counterparty failures may affect availability. ZAR is the only fiat currency represented as supported at launch.
10.Compliance, sanctions and Travel Rule risk
Crypto transfers and accounts may be delayed, restricted, rejected or reviewed due to KYC/AML, sanctions, fraud, Travel Rule, source-of-funds, tax-reporting or other legal requirements. Customers may be asked for additional information or wallet evidence.
11.International and jurisdiction risk
A country not appearing on SYENU’s Restricted Jurisdictions list is not a guarantee that every Service is lawful or available there. Local crypto laws can change quickly, and SYENU may limit services, stop onboarding or require additional terms or verification where local licensing, consumer, tax, sanctions or other rules require it.
12.FATF and higher-risk jurisdiction risk
Residence in a jurisdiction subject to FATF increased monitoring may result in enhanced due diligence, additional documents, limits or monitoring. Such status does not by itself mean the customer is involved in wrongdoing.
13.Listing and delisting risk
Assets or markets may be suspended or delisted for legal, technical, security, liquidity, issuer, network, market-integrity or commercial reasons. Withdrawals may be time-limited after a delisting.
14.Technology availability
Maintenance, cyber incidents, telecommunications failures, cloud outages or events outside SYENU’s reasonable control may make trading, withdrawals or account data temporarily unavailable.
15.Tax risk
Crypto tax treatment varies by jurisdiction and may change. Customers are responsible for their own tax obligations. SYENU may report information to competent tax authorities where required.
16.No deposit insurance or guaranteed return
Unless specifically required and disclosed under applicable law, crypto assets on SYENU are not bank deposits and do not carry a guaranteed return or government deposit guarantee.
17.User responsibility
- Understand the asset, network, order type and fees before transacting.
- Do not trade with funds you cannot afford to lose.
- Verify withdrawal details carefully and use strong account security.
- Monitor official SYENU notices and obtain independent advice where appropriate.
